Google Ads: Advertising

Being that Google AdWords is an online advertising service, it that allows businesses to have their ads run on Google’s search results page, and have the ads look almost identical to the normal search results, the only difference being the small word “Ad” in green. Google ads will show at the top and bottom of a search results page.

When consumers search a particular word or phrase, Google will show the ads that are relevant to the keywords used during the consumer’s search. Websites that want their ads to show on the results page bid on keywords that they believe people will use when looking for their type of business.  Some keywords a plumber from Nanaimo might use are “plumbing Nanaimo”, “Vancouver Island plumber”, or “broken toilet”, etc. This becomes more advantageous on a local-scale, as you can adjust the geographical extent of your ad, ensuring that it can be viewed by locals. Google AdWords helps you as a business owner this way, because it is simultaneously advertising as people are searching for answers on Google.
